LAI SLG May Conference 2026

The LAI School Libraries Group invites you to join us for an engaging and informative conference that will focus on how we can support neurodiversity in schools and libraries. This conference is supported by Outside the Box Learning Resources.

The 2026 theme is Beyond the Book: Supporting Neurodiversity in Schools and Libraries

Date: 14th May

Time: 9:30am – 3:30pm

Location: The High School, Dublin 6

Guest speakers

  • Tara Mulhern (mental health Occupational Therapist with Jigsaw)
  • Margaret Flood (Assistant Professor in Inclusive and Special Education in Maynooth University)

There will be library and education professionals sharing their practices and insights including Robin Stewart (JCSP Librarian, Marino College), Joseph Peelo (JCSP Librarian, Kylemore College), Sarah Purcell (JCSP Librarian, Ellenfield Community College), Katie Dickson (Wesley College Librarian) and Patsy McCaughey (The High School’s Educational Psychologist)

Following lunch, participants will be invited to take part in a facilitated round table discussion.

The afternoon will conclude with the Library Association of Ireland School Libraries Group Annual General Meeting, where all members are invited to stand for and vote for our upcoming 2026-2027 committee.
